In "It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas", "the prettiest sight to see is the holly that will be on your own front door."
At Christmas time, we deck the halls to celebrate a new baby King, to celebrate love of family and friends. It is fun to let your children be participants in the decorating. It helps them catch the true "spirit" of Christmas!
Here are some beautifully decorated doors:
Holly is an evergreen plant with spiny-toothed leaves and berries that range in color from red, brown, black, and sometimes even green and yellow (be warned: holly berries are poisonous, so don't eat them. Sometimes when kids are little or if you have pets, it is best to use artificial holly). For Christmas, we usually use the ones that are red, because green & red are popular Christmas colors.
Take a field trip to a Christmas store and find all the red and green items. There will be a lot!!
